Passing the daze

You know that time between a death of someone special and the funeral?  You know those few days that turn into a daze?  You know I don't think any of us were prepared for that feeling or those days.

But thankfully, as the mommys and daddys grieve, the children play.

As we have learned about those days and the memories that we shared grieving over our little baby Flint.  Willow bean and Kora played at nana Butler's to give the parents some time with out kids.  It is a healing process, it is ok to grieve and thankfully we aren't in it alone.  Thank you Lord, for your peace.  You can see Willow stacking her cups in the picture.  We too will stack our memories. Our days, this process, we will slowly begin to piece it together and build up Joy and Sam during this time.

Safe in the Arms of Jesus

A few weeks ago, Grayson called his "uncle Ryan" and "ms. Jill" to invite them to his citizenship award ceremony for Thurs. night.  We have enjoyed the "other" Jill and Ryan in our lives and they are like family to us.  We have tried to support them and their kids in their things since their family is not able to go to their events either.  When my sister Joy was in labor with our little precious Flint.  We weren't able to get plane tickets quick enough so we were able to go and support little Grayson during his awards ceremony that Thursday evening.

All the kids.... they have become so close through the years.

It was nice to spend time with our "florida" family before Joy delivered.

It made it a little bit easier to take the bite and realize that I couldn't be there with my family, at Baskin Robbins I got the call that it would be anytime.  Well, about 2 hours later she delivered Flint in Akron, Ohio.  He went to be with Jesus and his funeral is on Monday, Jan. 31st.  I don't have a lot of pictures yet, but head on over to my sister Joy's blog for some pictures and more details.

Baby Flint is with Jesus

Baby Flint Ridge was born in Ohio to my sister Joy and her husband Sam.  Big sissy, Kora was waiting in the waiting room with grandparents and family.  He was 3lbs, 11 oz. 13.5 inches and was born at 9:40.  He went to be with Jesus before arriving and being held by his mommy.

Big girl Scarlett

Scarlett working on her Valentine's Day cards.

Scarlett, the conductor lining up her trains.  Scarlett, you are such a big girl sister.  You love on Willow and play with her, but you love your own time too.  I usually sit down with you once a day for about an hour to work with just you.  I hope that you remember these moments.

Know that I can cook

So I got a new cooking magazine for Christmas from Nana Butler.  The recipe was Pork Tenderloin with Red and Yellow Peppers.

It was actually really good, except we used green and yellow peppers.  The recipe was healthy and good...ALL in one recipe.

Be Still

When my girls are in the garage and playing with playdoh, I have learned to be still

Scarlett got a new "haircut" box and has been going to town cutting all her dolly's nails.

So I am still, I am enjoying these moments.  I am still, in knowing that this stage will pass and I don' t want to miss it.... so I will enjoy this moment of being still.

Sweet Fun times

My sweet children ready to go to run errands.  This is our new paint and front door mat.  I have yet to put up my "uppercase living" on the door.

This little ABC toy is so cool.  You can put the animals on the letter that matches and the animal makes sounds.  I pull these little games out of the box to give them different toys to play with throughout the year.

Daddy came home after being gone with work and the girls just eat it up.  They don't leave his side and they make sure to put the baby and the dog in the mix too.

My girls

Little Willow bean has been all into discovery.

She is snapping them all into place.

Scarlett has been busy, learning about her horses.  Our story for the week was about Jesus and the loaves/fishes.

Scarlett is always dragging Willow along to show her the ropes.  Sometimes good ropes, sometimes not so good.
