Spoiled Willow

A very long time ago, like back in October.  My parents came into town to help out with the kids....or something like that.
Of course Willow bean was all over that and traveled with the grandparents for the day.
I think she will have ACE hardware in her blood!  Dad was looking at a store in the south part of the state so Willow tagged along!
All she probably wanted to do was ride in "the van." - yes, we have deprived our kids....we don't own a mini-van and they really, really want one!
Oh the that spoiled and sillly Willow.

Thank you

Love when my mom and dad come into town
I tried to get a good picture but the kids were just laughing away.  Ryan and I were able to sneak out for a date night....the first since we have had our little guy.  We went to Bravo and ate so much we were both up all night with belly aches...ha

Grandparents

This weekend was Grandparents Day!  We came into town on Friday night and Grandma and Grandpa Hartzler had a big ol pizza party.  Almost the entire family was there.  Grandma made these yummy cupcakes.  She is such a blessing to all of us.
This is the spot where the "kitty's" go and hide from the kids.  So the kids stand there for hours waiting for the "kitty's" to come out.
Late into the evening we are still partying.  It was a beautiful evening and wonderful to see everyone.
Brad, my cousin has recently married Tami and it was nice to get to know her better too!
Uncle Dale's birthday is on August 17, the same as Lane.  I called Uncle Dale earlier that morning and told him Happy Birthday and that maybe Lane would be born that day.  Sure enough later that evening, I went in and had Lane.  Happy Birthday boys!!
I don't have may pictures of Jason and Crystal's little Harper, and obviously this picture didn't turn out so well either.  But at least I have one of her!
A few of the cousins eating pizza!  Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for the lovely evening.

Grandparents

Grandma and Grandpa Hartzler came to Cincy for the day.  It was such a wonderful visit.  It was so relaxing and the kids were able to spend some time with them.

Grandma made a yummy lunch menu.... lasagna, salad and a yummy pie!  We were so thankful for the visit and so blessed to have such wonderful grandparents.

But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children's children,

Weekend Wrap Up

Scarlett only has a few more days before she starts Kindergarten so I have been trying to pack in the last few things I wanted to do with the girls.  Nana and Papaw were here for the weekend so we decorated some yummy sugar cookies.
Nana was showing the girls how to apply the frosting on the cookie!
The girls were so busy all weekend, even Scarlett chilled out on the couch and took a nap.  One of the reasons I am posting this picture is because I found it funny that Scarlett had Nana's phone by her when she went to sleep....apparently Nana lets them use her phone = not mommy....
Love this picture of big sister Scarlett holding Lane.  The girls adore him.  I have to tell them to back away or give him space.
Three generations!!!
I have a frame in Lane's room that says "Generations."  So I wanted to get some pictures of when he was a wee-bitty baby!
Of course, the girls didn't know what to think of the photo op going on!!
So we threw the girls into the picture, as you can see it was early Sunday morning so the girls were still in the jammies.
Ryan and little Lane.  You are such a good daddy and spoil all of us rotten!  Thank you Daddy!!
Willow getting her turn with Lane.  This is a picture of Willow on her actual 3rd birthday!!
Lane is captivated by the ball in his bouncer!!
My little old man......he was just exhausted after the weekend of eating and sleeping!

Quack Quack

Ride the Duck - Newport

See this cool little bus on wheels!!! Over the weekend Papaw and Nana took the girls on the "Ride the Ducks" Experience.  It takes you sightseeing and gives you a duck's view of the Greater Cincinnati area.  You travel the land and water (Ohio River) with just this one vehicle.

I am not sure the girls knew what they were getting into at this point.
We bought tickets through the website and picked them up at will call.

Ride The Ducks is the nation's largest amphibious tour operator and amphibious vehicle manufacturer. The mission is to "create Quack-tastic memories worth repeating" by offering our guests an entertainment sightseeing experience that is fun, informative and engaging. - via website
Papaw and Scarlett crusin along the land before going into the water.
Nana and Willow....do you see the quackers around their neck.  The tour guide told them to quack at people along the street until they smile and wave.
Scarlett took this to heart and never stopped quacking.
Getting ready to take the plunge.
Willow just wasn't too sure about going in the water, she said she was a little scared but got over that real quick!

The girls were able to learn some history about the Greater Cincinnati area too!  They learned about the Newport Aquarium and the Roebling Suspension Bridge.  They even passed the Great American Ballpark which is home to the Cincinnati Reds and the Paul Brown Stadium which is home to the Cincinnati Bengals.  We hope to go to a game this season and I think you will be able to see the Duck Rides from the game.

Willow and her happy quacker.....it took her awhile to figure that little yellow guy out, but she finally did it!

Papaw and his little quackers!!

As you can imagine, that little cute quacker comes home with you and it just keeps quacking.  Little Lane was 8 days old and was able to hear the quacking from these two little ducks!!

Although I might have to go back and buy a few of these for the girls to hit on the driving range.  Maybe if I tell Willow to "hit the duck" she will drive the ball far.  As you can imagine, she likes to take a few swings when using her driver.

Everything about this ride is black and white, simple as that.  It is a fun way to spend your Saturday morning in the Greater Cincinnati area.  If you are in the area, you should try it out or if you come to visit, we would love to take you!

momma called the dr....

Papaw and Nana came in for the weekend.  Lane was one week old.
Nana and Lane taking a nap....It was nice to have them in town for an extended weekend as Ryan was able to take Scarlett to her open house while I took Lane to the doctor.  They were able to help watch Willow.

Lane has been such a good baby, so different then my girls.  I had to snap this picture because this is what he did when I walked into the doctor AND when I was walking out.

We just started going to this pediatric practice.  They have about 10 doctors but you can request to see the same one if you like.  I was so pleased with Dr. Kellogg (yep, just like Kellogg's cereal).  She was so sweet and just loved on Lane.  At one week, Lane weighed the same that he when he was born, which is a good thing!
